Welcome to Picadome Elementary School!

Spotlight on Picadome

On November 23rd, Picadome celebrated Unity Day with many activities. Origami, kimono and chopstick demonstrations were provided by parents and members of the Japanese community. The kindergarten, first and second grade students performed Japanese songs for the school. They also enjoyed harp and karate demonstrations. Thanks to Mrs. Noah and Mrs. Momozono for all their hard work.

Spotlight on Picadome

Author Leigh Anne Florence visited Picadome on Friday, November 13th. She brought Woody, the Kentucky Wiener Dog with her to meet the Picadome students. Leigh Anne Florence shared Woody's five ways to be successful with the students. She also spoke to the 5th graders about the importance of writing and strategies for improving their writing.

Spotlight on Students

Picadome students are participating in the Cans for Cash program supporting the Bluegrass Partnership for a Green Community. Schools that collect and recycle the highest number of cans per student in their schools' size category will receive a cash prize. Did you know aluminum cans are 100% recyclable? One of our students brought in 700 cans! Contest runs through October 31st!
