Big Brothers and Big Sisters Mentoring Program

Picadome Elementary has begun partnering with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program to provide identified students with mentors. Adults or older youth will visit the students on the school campus. Visits will be one hour during the week during school. Mentors will provide the students with friendship, support and academic help. Mentors will not have any contact with students outside of the classroom. If you believe your child could benefit from having a mentor please contact the FRC director, guidance counselor, or your child's teacher to request an application.

 

Angel Food Ministry Program

The Angel Food Program is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and contributing to benevolent outreaches in the communities throughout the United States. Each month's menu is is different and consists of fresh, frozen and packaged foods. A box of Angel food costs $30. There is no purchase limit and no applications or qualifications necessary to participate. The program is open to anyone regardless of income. God's Pantry Emergency Food Box Referrals

The emergency food box program is designed to assist families in need not just during the holidays but through out the year. The FRC provides referrals for emergency food baskets. You must contact Ms. Brown and come in for an appointment in order to receive this service. The God's Pantry referral line closes at 3:00 pm. Families are eligible to receive a basket 4 times within a 6 month period.

 

 

Supplemental Food Program

The Family Resource Center has teamed with God's Pantry provide food for students on the weekends. The program will begin September 19th. If your family could use some extra food items please sign up as soon as possible with Ms. Brown. Items include cereal, fruit, milk, fruit juice, peanut butter, breakfast bars, peanuts, crackers and other nutritional items. Participation in the program is free. Families may start the program at any time.
