The Fainting Chair

The Fainting Chair

This is a fainting chair. Henry Clay had this fainting chair because, when the women wore those dresses, under the dresses they wear a corset. The corset makes the women tight and it is causing them to pass out.

The difference between the fainting chair and our chairs today is that the fainting chair is for fainting in and our chairs today are for sitting in. You won t want to faint in our chairs today because it will really hut your back. Can you imagine about fainting on our chairs today?

The Fainting Couch

Third graders from Picadome went to Henry Clay’s home while they were there they noticed a bedroom that room was Henry’s son’s room the room is almost completely made of ash that’s how it got the name Ashland .That room has a fainting couch because the waist on girls dresses were to tight and sometimes made them faint. I am glad we don’t have those any more! I hope you enjoy all the letters that we wrote. Ashland is the best!
