“WHERE
I’m From”
By Martin Blakeman
I am from
sugar cookies that taste like sugary sweet powder, brownies that taste
like soft mushy melting chocolate, and cherries that taste like
cold mushy strawberries.
I am from
cherry candles that smell like warm melting cherries, my mom’s cherry
blossom
smelling like sweet cherries,
and cinnamon candles smelling like cinnamon stick
I am from a
white dog that glistens in the sun, my mom’s face shining in the light,
and my ant’s make up making her look younger.
I am from barks
from my dog that warns us when some one is at the door, my
mom’s and aunt’s voices talking about stuff that happened at
work ,
and bubbling hot water that
lets me know when we are going to have mac and cheese.
