SBDM Minutes

July 24, 2007

 

 

The Picadome School Community is committed to all students becoming lifelong learners through academic success and responsible citizenship.

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:17.

Members present: Darla Simms; teachers: Chris Camuel, Ricki Rosenberg,

                              Kathy Cleary; parents: Tim Locker, Steve Stone

 

I.                    The minutes of the July 10 meeting were read and council

approved.

 

     II.          Budget was not reviewed since the Munis system is not avail-

able during July.

 

    III.          Information Items

 

A.     SBDM Member Training

Ms Simms reminded members to sign up for SBDM

training. Mr. Camuel asked several questions regard-

ing our council as related to the training he had. Ms

Simms and other council members addressed these

questions.

 

B.     Student Achievement Data

Ms Simms reviewed the student achievement data with

                        council members. Council members reviewed and dis-

cussed PAS reading and math results—see attached. Ms

Simms recommended to council that Picadome use Math

Standards Test (MST) as a diagnostic assessment in the

Fall at all grade levels and that we not use PAS to assess

social studies and science. The council agreed by consensus

to these recommendations.

 

C.     Enrollment Update

Ms Simms reported current enrollment numbers.

 

     

IV.   Action Items

A.      Hiring and Consultation

Consultation occurred for the filling of the vacant Curriculum Coach position and a vacant para educator position.  The interview committee is recommending hiring Amy Bays for Curriculum Coach.  Kim White worked as an Early Start assistant last year and is recommended for the vacant special education para-educator. Council agreed by consensus.  We are currently searching for a candidate for the vacant helping custodian position.

B.     Portable Laptop Lab

We are waiting to hear from IAKSS to see if our original RFP was approved.

C.     Staffing/funds

Council discussed staffing needs and agreed to wait until Day 4 to make any staffing changes.

D.     School Improvement Plan

                              Council agreed that the accountability goal for 2008 will be 110. Council reviewed SIP and agreed recommended revisions.
